No matter what healthy habits you adopt, you cannot and will not sustain long-term success if you feed yourself a steady diet of negativity and self-doubt. Here are 3 things you can do to get your mind right. Hand to G-d, your life will change once you stop being such a jerk to yourself.
- Counter 1 with 3! When you catch yourself saying something negative, self-deprecating, or unkind to or about yourself, immediately counter with 3 positives. Remember, if you wouldn’t say it to your best friend, you shouldn’t say it to yourself!
- The Positivity Mantra! “I love my body for all it does for me”. Repeat this often. Believe it. Your body is an amazing machine that is not simply its parts.
- Be Kindly Accountable! If you ate a slab of cake from Safeway because you had a crappy day at work, don’t dismiss it as “being one of those days”. Reverse engineer the action and look at the steps that lead you there and then create a quick plan so you will react differently next time. But holding yourself accountable for your missteps *does not* mean you run down your seemingly never-ending laundry list of faults. That’s counterproductive.
