FREE Fitness Resources

In Northern California we are ‘sheltering in place’ for 3 weeks. What that means for many of us who belong to or work at gyms, yoga studios, cycle studios, etc., is that we are out of a place to exercise and/or out of work.

But it’s important that we take care of our health, both physical and mental so I’ve created a list of fitness resources that are FREE.

OutFIT Marin Boot-Camp – Ok, I’ll start with my website first. I’m posting a weekly workout schedule with 3 days of structured workouts and cardio suggestions.

Constantly Varied Gear – CVG not only sells great fitness apparel they also provide free workouts for members of their tribe. Check out their website and join their groups on Facebook (Fitness Programming By CVG and TTSL Training) for inspiration and you can download their FREE e-book.

Yoga with Adriene – I’ve extolled the virtues of YWA for years. Even if you have resisted yoga before (like I did) you will become a convert (like I have). You can become a paid subscriber via her website but you can still find a full library of FREE videos on her YouTube channel.

Commune Virtual Yoga and Meditation – Commune is launching a free virtual yoga and meditation studio that will enable you to keep your practice going and connect with a global community of like-minded people.

POPSUGAR Fitness – A wide variety of workouts you can try. Plus all sorts of health and wellness tips. Their site has pop-up ads which can be annoying, fyi.

Xfinity – If you’re a customer of Xfinity, you can do a deep dive into their fitness videos. Do a search for “fitness” and you can find a wide variety of programming that you can check out. Some are free and some are paid, fyi.

You should also check out with your gym, club, studio or box as many of them are providing online or virtual training while they are closed.

Finally, a word about the workouts you find while scrolling the internet. Please remember that just because someone has a channel or presence (or chiseled abs) does not mean that they are qualified to provide training plans.
