Have you been toying with the idea of trying a plant-based diet? If so, Veganuary may be for you.
Vegan-u-ary? Yep, Veganuary is a thing. Launched in 2014 its’ mission is to encourage people worldwide to try vegan for January and, hopefully, beyond. During the 2019 campaign, more than a quarter of a million people took the pledge to try a vegan diet.
And that’s just people who signed the pledge.
So why not take the plunge in 2020?
There are a myriad of benefits to going plant-based and each person has their own reasons for their initial jump-in; health, environmental, animal rights, etc. It’s a very personal decision and no matter what reason you have for starting, you get huge props because it can be hard to make such a big change.
I started my journey in March, 2017 and looking back, I wish I had jumped in on Veganuary because slogging through it alone was tough. I think having these resources would have made the transition less bumpy.
Now, just because you participate in Veganuary does not mean that you have to commit to this way of eating long-term. Don’t worry about the wedding you’re going to in February or the cruise your family is taking in June. Focus on January. Hell, focus on January 1st or even the first breakfast you’re having on January 1st. And play it by ear.
Visit https://uk.veganuary.com/ if you’d like more information. There are plenty of resources available to get you started.
Now go run!
