As a fitness professional for the past 10 years the most challenging time for folks to stay on their fitness journey is the 6 week period from late June into August.
Vacations, visitors, dealing with the kiddos at home or having impromptu LAN parties (all the moms with 7th graders get it), beach days, BBQ’s, block parties, etc., etc., etc. Then, throw in the warmer temps or humidity (ACK!) and it is harder to get’er done.
So if you are on this path and are a little frustrated, trust me friend, you are not alone. I’ll let you chew on that that little nugget for a sec. Now let’s get to work.
Here’s 3 tips to get you rolling again.
- Type in ‘Stronger Summer Challenge’ in the search bar to the right. Check out the workouts I’ve posted and follow them. The workouts can be shortened if needed but most of them will be done in under 20 min. Email me if you need further guidance.
- Set a goal to do one thing every day that will get you closer to your goal. Cut out junk food. Do 20 minutes of yoga, drink all of your water, eat fruits for snacks, brown bag your lunch. At the end of the day, high-five yourself and set a new goal for the next day. And listen, it can be the same goal for the week – just make it and keep it.
- Rally your peeps and create an accountability tribe. Never underestimate the power of a group text or chat to keep you on track. Now a caveat, if you have pals that would rather wine than walk, you may need to find a new posse for this task. (But keep the friends).
