Looking Inward

I have lived 53 years without knowing what Juneteenth was. I never heard about the Tulsa Race Massacre until Donald Trump planned to hold a rally in Oklahoma.  I never had a conversation with my teenage son about what to do if he’s pulled over by the police. I. Never. Gave. It. A. Thought.

I recognize that I need to do better.  So I’m reading things that make me uncomfortable. I’m listening to podcasts that make me uncomfortable.  I’m making a point to have the uncomfortable conversations with my family.  And I know that many of you are doing this too.

For things to change we have to learn, listen and understand how we got here.  A co-worker of mine put together an Anti-Racist Resource guide and I invite you to check it out. We can all do better.

Now go run!

Keli 🙂
