In order to achieve your health and fitness goals, you have to do the work. Just because you want it, doesn’t mean you get it. I mean, I’m all about putting positivity into the world, but you cannot just manifest that shit. You have to go through the process.
What trips people up is the monotony. The day to day grind of working out, drinking your water, and all of the choices you have to make every stinking meal, every workout, every day to support your goals.
So when you are setting your goals and making your plan, please think about some ways that you will counter the doldrums and boredom that will ineveitably strike. Whether it’s taking a day to skip the regular workout for a yoga class or a slow and easy hike chatting with your friends.
Even just saying out loud that today is a sucky day and you don’t feel like working out or you want cake for breakfast will help. Voice the complaint, wallow in it for a bit and then get back to it. Because every step forward, no matter how shitty it feels in the moment is a step closer to your goals.
And yes, you can quote me on that.
Now go run!
