Now let’s move on to some meal planning. Here are 2 things to make and have available in you fridge.
- A large fruit salad
- A large green or grain-based salad
Your green or grain-based salad pairs well with leftover chicken, burgers or a nice filet of salmon from the grill. Or if you’re going meatless you can add a can of garbanzo or black beans to the mix. Sprinkle some feta or shaved Parmesan cheese on top and you have a lovely meal. If you have picky eaters in your family, set it up like a salad bar so it can be customized.
Fruit salad encourages you to eat more fruit. It’s already prepared and you can dish it out before the kids can clamor for ice cream. After my workout I usually have a bowl of melon or pineapple. It’s refreshing, hydrating and takes the edge off until I can have a proper breakfast.
