Full disclosure. The Pandemic has taken a toll on my running. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still been working out but the running, meh. In early 2021 I started increasing my miles and it was going well. Then it wasn’t.
So after 3 1/2 months of very little running I’m finally (slowly and pathetically) getting back on a schedule. My goal for the next few weeks are 3 short runs each week then I’ll start building from there. Right now I just need to get out and run, I’ll work on distance and pace later.
But even with a plan, it’s become obvious that I need to sign up for a race. And not a virtual one, a real, live, in-person race. After looking around I decided to run the 2021 Presidio 10 which is a 10 mile run in San Francisco on Oct 3. It’s a race I’ve done a few times and one I LOVE so I’m kind of excited. The next steps are to set up a training schedule because, if I went out to run 10 miles tomorrow I’d probably hurt myself.
In August I’m going to get back to scheduled Sunday runs. If you’re interested in group runs let me know. Training with a group is so much better than slogging alone.
Now go run!
