I love fruit. Fruit has fiber (to help aid in digestion, fullness and “elimination”). It also has many nutrients (such as potassium, Vitamin C and folate, just to name a few) and health promoting phytochemicals.
And how lucky for us that we’re entering the prime fruit season! Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches! Oh my! Chopped and layered over yogurt and cereal, tossed in a green salad, pureed and blended into a smoothie (rum optional). Yum!
Here’s a fun fact. Keeping a bowl of fruit on the counter or in plain sight in the fridge (read: don’t hide them in the crisper) will increase your family’s fruit consumption. Give it a try and let me know if it works.
