“Will running hurt my knees?”
This is, I think a common misconception among non-runners (NRs). And sure, runners have their fare share of aches, pains, and even injuries but for the most part they won’t end your running career. (Of course, there are many instances where people are not able to continue running but I would say they are the exception, not the norm).
Running actually strengthens the muscles of your feet, ankles, knees, legs, glutes and your core. It also helps increase bone density, bone strength as well as strengthening ligaments and tendons.
Studies have also shown that runners have healthier knees and joints than non-runners. Now that’s a good reason to lace up and hit the road!
Now go run!
Keli 🙂
Nice to have you back Keli.
I really missed you.
