Products and Stuff I Love

Here’s the place where I plug all the things I love and use.

FITNESS EQUIPMENT/ACCESSORIES

Bani Bands

It surprises people that I love me some sparkle! Bani Bands come in a variety of fabrics, patterns, and styles, so if you’re not into some glitz, that’s okay!

My hair is layered, and I need to tame the locks, so I first use a small, thin headband to pull all the hair under and then slide my sparkle into place. The headband stays on through boot camp, long runs, and soccer games. If you buy one, you better buy two because your daughter, niece, or sister will try to steal it from you. You can buy them at www.banibands.com.

Booty Bands

Strong Glutes and strong legs are key for healthy aging.

These bands apply pressure and tension, so you really work those muscles when you do hip lifts, squats, clamshells, leg lifts, and leg presses.

This resistance band is crafted from cotton and utilizes advanced thickening and reinforcement techniques. Even during intense workouts and sweating, this fitness band will never roll or curl up, and it maintains its elasticity even with regular use. You can buy them on Amazon.

SPRI Resistance Bands

These bands have been a staple in my boot-camp classes since the beginning. They provide great resistance, are extremely durable, are ideal for taking along on a trip, and are a great budget-friendly way to add strength training equipment to your home gym. The color of the band determines the “weight” of the band. You can buy them on Amazon.

  • Red = Light (ideal for true beginners or if you are rehabbing from an injury)
  • Blue = Medium (this is what most of my classes use)
  • Purple = Heavy

*Yellow and green are also available, but are very light, and we don’t use them in our class.

Dumbbells

I like these hexagonal rubber dumbbells. The handles are what sells them. The metal body gives them a good grip and isn’t slippery like rubber or painted ones. Amazon is your best bet for pricing, but you can occasionally find them on sale at Big5 and Target. Also, if you run across Peloton-brand dumbbells at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, grab them.

Individual Dumbbells – Priced per dumbbell ($17 for 1 – 10lb, $24 for 1 – 15lb., etc)

Dumbbell Sets – Best Value at $99 includes 2 – 5lb, 2 – 10lb, 2 – 15lb and 2 – 20lb and a storage rack.
