I often get asked for recommendations so today I’m launching a limited series “My Top 5”. Each post will provide resources and links on topics that might help you along your health and fitness journey.
With Veganuary coming up on January 1st, it’s the perfect opportunity to start with my Top 5 Recipe Sites, which are, you guessed it, plant-based. But wait! Even if you don’t have a desire to adopt a plant-based diet full-time, you can add one or two a week. It’s good for the planet and for your body.
So enjoy the list and please note they are in no particular order.

Sam Turnbull’s recipes are simple to execute and bring tons of flavor. I made “The Best Vegan Chili Ever” for our Superbowl party last year and everyone thought the vegan crumbles were ground turkey or beef. The recipes are easy to follow and to download. Sam is the author of “Fuss-Free Vegan” and has a new cookbook coming out in 2021 titled “Fast Easy Cheap Vegan“.

Rip Esselstyn is the founder of the Engine 2 program that recently has been re-named Plant-Strong. He’s a leader in the plant-based space along with and with his sister Jane, his mom Ann and his father, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. Recipes are a family affair and they laugh it up and whoop it up online as they show how accessible a plant-based way of eating can be! For example, try this soul-warming Creamy Wild-Rice and Mushroom Stew.

The granddaddy of them all, FOK is a first-stop for those adopting a plant-based diet. And if you’re looking for a delicious Indian-inspired meal for a cold night try the Indian Spiced Cauliflower and Potato Casserole.
Plant-Based on a Budget – https://plantbasedonabudget.com/
One common misconception is that it’s expensive to eat healthy food. This site debunks that myth, and hard. Toni shares a ton of recipes that are good for you and your wallet. She offers not only free recipes but also a free menu planner, which is so helpful. Taco Tuesday is a hit at our house and this Mexican rice is a great accompaniment that’s easy to make and delicious!
